This photograph shows a typical mixed cargo. Bagged cargo that has been well protected against the weather with tarpaulins and secured with nets and ropes forms a "base" for the car that is being transported. From the angle at which the photograph was taken, it would seem that any load-securing measures were somewhat meager. It's probable that some wells for the wheels of the car were stowed in with the cargo to allow some kind of tight fit. This is a securing method that does not quite live up to our expectations.
