Swell!

A 4800 TEU container ship in rough weather. Winds of gale force 10 to 11 (approximately 89 to 117 km/h). There is a heavy swell from 4 points starboard bow (45°).

Even a 4800 TEU ship needs to have due respect for water. This respect should result in a defensive reaction by the captain (e.g. a reduction in speed).

As far as the cargo is concerned, the crew and the transport insurers can only hope that it has been properly secured using the methods described under www.containerhandbook.de.
