Figure 7 and Figure 8: Steel slabs (weighing 8 and 11 metric tons) were loaded with gaps and inadequately lashed down with only two belts each.
A tight fit was created with pallets at the front in the longitudinal direction. The tie-down lashings were replaced with loop lashings, which also provided a tight fit to the sides. A loop lashing was enough to secure the load adequately to the rear.
